Average work and terrible customer service – The only reason that I have used this service in the past is because of the relationship the owner has with family and friends that live in my city. Additionally, I have in the past tried to support black-owned businesses.
Unfortunately, the past two experiences have left me feeling less than satisfied about the work that was done on my house and has made me determined more than ever to contact someone more reputable (i.e. Morris-Jenkins) the next time that I have to have some work done.
The first time I used them, they had to come out THREE times to repair a heating unit. The first two times they charged an exorbitant amount to get the work done. The last time, they didn't charge me because I refused to pay them any more money.
Most recently, they charged 4000.00 to replace my heating and air unit. They promised that they'd have it done in five days (which is a day longer than others had promised but the cost was less) and it took them 11 business days to get it done. This means they were at my house for about two weeks working on getting this unit installed.
Additionally, once it was installed, we FAILED inspection. Then during the course of this "installation,? I had all kinds of problems: Long periods without hot water or air (which is understandable if it had been COMMUNICATED TO ME UP FRONT) and days when the workers were late or didn't show at all.
Finally, just save yourself the trouble of all of this by not hiring them to do work for you. Honestly, the only reason why I have not filed a complaint with the B B B is that the owner seems to be a nice man who is close to retiring and I am hopeful that upon his retirement, others can be spared from the travesty of having his crews do any work for them.
