If you are going to do a Psychological Evaluation for a custody or visitation case do NOT go. Unless she is willing to do home visits and actually do a dip investigation into both home environments, do not pay her $5,000. Is not worth it.
Like someone else, if there was an option for ZERO stars, it would be selected. ONE is being too generous. My attorney recommended a custodial evaluation and Dr. Brenzel came up. Worst mistake ever and my family is still paying dearly for it and the damage that she has caused my children will never be undone. Dr. Brenzel does not listen to any domestic violence nor give any consideration to that during your evaluation. PERIOD. She asked me questions then argued with me about my answers. When I refused to argue with her she said I was being non-cooperative. She faxed information the day before a hearing to the other party's attorney but not mine. She is only concerned about getting work from the courts and not the quality of her work. She will lie.
One star is too generous for her. I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years, and am a licensed clinician. Sally Brenzel is completely incompetent and clearly incapable of providing any real support and/or assistance to families in crisis. Her inability to see beyond facades is negligent. Dr. Brenzel is a fraud. She does side contract with the Administrative Office of the Courts and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She fails to disclose this information to people like me who were forced to use her in a private child custody evaluation by a corrupt judge. I told her that something was very wrong with my Cabinet records and the social worker Shereena Hamilton. Do not subject your family to this! The abuse will continue, she will not listen to the children, and barely use the information provided. I believe the costs were somewhere around $3k...save your family and your money. Multiple appointments schedule, evidence taken in, releases for records and nothing really used except her tests. She does not believe in domestic abuse, and does fault the victim for reacting to the abuser. One is as low as this will go - find someone else. She half does the work that is paid of her, doesn't go through all the documents and proof, and doesn't listen to anyone. Failed to contact children's therapists, didn't read child services reports/notes, or even listen to the children Does not believe domestic violence should be a factor. This so called therapist doesn't deserve even 1 star. I have worked in the mental health field, myself, for over 15 years and she is by far the worst therapist I have every come in contact with. She does not care about what is best for the child. It is evident that she cares only about looking good in the courts eye so she can continue to get referrals.
