Both my husband and I have seen Dr Mellis and think he is a wonderful doctor in all aspects. He is extremely competent and knowledgeable and has a caring bedside manner. Wouldn’t recommend any other!
Had MRI done. Went to have reviewed by Dr. Mellis. Upon arrival stated I needed an x-ray. I advised that I already had an MRI and I was only here for review of that. The receptionist response was “we still need to do an x-ray. I thought an MRI provided detail superior to an x-ray. When in the office the doctor said he did not see anything wrong. Terrible surgeon. He did knee surgery on my husband. A week later I had to have my husband transferred to GRANT BONE AND JOINT. My husband became septic and a second surgeon had to totally redo the surgery to keep the leg from needing amputated.
Avoid this place. You make an appointment a few months in advance. You show up 15 mins early as asked. You take the day off of work and lose a lot of $$$$ and you are told they are running an hour or so behind. My first time to see this doctor and my last!!.
Dr. Mellis is great. He's caring and explains everything thuroughly and does excellent follow up.
