Brasserie? – Is this restaurant serious? How can they call themselves a brasserie? If Olive Garden did a brasserie this is probably what they would come up with. My wife and I were in town for business from Missouri. Being former New Yorkers we were excited to see a brasserie in Providence. I have to laugh at how disorganized they are. The website still has rates from 2008 (today is 8/14/09). In addition I called last week on Saturday to purchase tickets, someone from Bravo said you need to call back tomorrow morning the person that sells the tickets is not here. Monday I called and the department selling the tickets "is at lunch so I need to call back", I asked them to take a message and have someone call me back. Guess what they never did. New Management – Bravo Brasserie has been under new management since around July of 2008. They have done an excellent job. Their food is priced reasonable and is now very consistent. I used to call for reservations and found it very difficult. They have discarded the answering machine .....thank godness. It seems as though they are on the right track. Tasty brunch Bravo serves a great brunch, when they're open. I feel like I just got lucky the one time I went and was able to eat there. I've tried to go back several times because the food was so good but every time they've been closed. If they had better hours this place could be really fantastic.
Not acheiving the goal – Bravo has the atmosphere and look of a trendy happening brasserie. However, the service and the food fall flat. While there, I feel as though I could be in NYC. There's a lot of activity, buzz of conversation and a relaxing atmosphere. The service has been spotty. Sometimes we are served by a fabulous young man.
