I bought my first home through Brass Brick, We did a custom build and I have to say that it was such a great experience for us, they even finished out house two months early. We did not have one problem, they gave us weekly updates on our home while it was being built and we even won a free upgrade at the meet the builders night. I know now that The old owners are not there any more however we had a wonderful experience with Brass Brick...
Brass Brick Design Build is a new owner, but has the same shady staff and poor quality subcontractors as the old Cunningham business did. They still make promises and never follow through. All of the staff s questionable, but really watch out for David. He is either a terrible business person or just a total liar. He is good at making promises and then disappearing without any actual follow through. Do not go into buying a home from Brass Brick Design Build without knowing you will most likely get burned.
Too many people have been robbed by Wiley & Ashley Cunningham. I had the opportunity to call them out on their arrogance at our very last. They stole over $100,000 from our personal construction acct and left us with a home that we can't finish because they took so much money from our construction loan and left it in a depleated state. They claimed they took their profit as they went along but never finished our home and the amount of "profit" they took was far above what any homebuilder would ever be paid. Brass Brick rushed us to close on our house, took our money, and promised they would complete $5,000-$10,000 worth of work in a couple of weeks. That was Sept 22, now they've sold the company and skipped town. We ended up with liens on our property like others, and not a word of "I'm sorry" or anything. They're a couple of scammers and thieves in my opinion. I'm definitely going to be contacting the Attorney General's office.
THe new owner has made sure that all liens on my house were paid after Ashley and Wiley didn't pay their subs. David, Amanda and Tom made sure that our house was ready to close on time. I'm so thankful that someone has stepped in to take over. I heard that he's a finance guy and used to running companies the right way. Thanks guys for a wonderful experience!
Brass Brick Homes is a joke. They are sooooo unproffesional. They took our 5k down payment. Built for a few months and then just stopped. They are now being foreclosed on by Kirkpatrick bank for the home we were building with them. It has been 6 weeks since a contractor has done anything on the house. Brass Brick must have had one person on staff for each home they were building.........and they still screwed up on just about every step of the process possible. So many so-called "checks and balances" but little accountability at the management/supevisor level. Errors were consistently attributed to someone else. Now we're having liens filed on our home by contractors that Brass Brick did not pay. Worst of all, we've never even gotten a phone call or email from ANYONE there much less the owners Ashley and Wiley Cunningham ... read more
My husband was a subcontracter for brass brick when they were first starting out. we never had prblems getting paid but the market is so bad the company is BAD OFF now! dont buy a home from them.
