the best martinis on financial district... – I am a regular!!!! for almost 3 years pete's have been my spot... I heard so many histories about how bad it was, but I can tell you, right now the food its great, the service is fast and spontaneous, the bartenders are very welcoming.... If you go to brandy pete's ask about the gentlemens cosmo, sliders and and fish and tips. But make sure you have reservations, they are really busy lunch time between 12:00 and 1:30.. All the reviews are so old that everyone should go there and t... read more
Pretty good – I work about 2 blocks from BP & I think it's a great spot for lunch & after-work drinks. The patio in the summer is fun. It's about the only place with a patio in the downtown area. You won't see many tourists there. It's all financial types & corporate heads looking to blow off some steam. The menu is good. It has all of the basics. The clam chowdah is awesome. They can accomodate large groups & private functions. Staff can be a little slow during high volume, but be patient & you'll have a good experience.
Average Value – I went on a Wednesday for happy hour and it was somewhat crowded, however, there was no wait to seat the two of us. The waitstaff was prompt and we had our beers in less than 5 minutes. The new bar menu offers a decent variety at an average price. We ordered the mini cheeseburgers-- They tasted great and were presented nicely. Overall a nice place to meet up after work.
No thanks – Too many cokcy brokers go here. Beers are plentiful but are solw in coming. It gets crowded for happy hour now that the outside seating is gone. Waitstaff has too much attitude. Food is over priced and downright nasty. Ok for a quick drink in the summer if you want to be outside but Tia's or Joe's or anything in Faneuil Hall have much better views.
Not too bad, just don't get the food – I went to Pete's after work with some friends. It was nice to sit outside but the location left much to be desired. The drinks were reasonably strong and there is a nice selection of beer. The Nachos were gross. Very oily doused in strange tasting chill. This is a good place to have a drink or two, but you should move on after that. And if you sit outside, watch out for the seagulls and pigeons. Its open season on your head.
Like School in the Summertime – NO CLASS. The only redeeming quality is the outdoor seating area. We sat here, waited forever to get our beers and ended up ordering the next round as the first was delivered. We left our waitress a moderate 15% tip (she stunk) and she angrily chased us down the sidewalk telling us that if that was all the tip she was going to get, we might as well keep it. We did. Couldn't believe it. Food is overpriced and low quality. Like a McDonald's fish fry.
