He never heard a word I said. Didn't ask any questions. Told me he didn't know what was wrong and sent me on my way. How disgusting that I have to pay this man. Don't waste your money with this one.
He seemed very disinterested in me. He did not perform the exams he described in his after-visit summary. Pulses, cap refill, etc. He made no mention of the cyanosis in my feet.
On arrival for my visit, the nurse was unfriendly, The Dr ordered X-rays prior to seeing me and examining my feet which seems like a waste of money, causing extra cost to insurances. The X-ray tech was also cold and unfriendly, didn’t seem to enjoy her job or being with patients. The Dr quickly made diagnoses and appeared not interested in discussing the disease process and offered little in the way of treatment. I was ver disappointed in the whole experience.
I saw Dr. Scharer a total of 2 times in the past 9 weeks. It was hard to tell if he believed my pain was real or not, but I received skepticism from the first day. My MRI came back today, he reviewed it and said my foot was fractured. Still, he didn't seem to care. Just told me to wear the boot and that is it. Real short and direct, he didn't sympathize with my pain or show any desire to help. Dr. Scharer listened carefully and understood my goals to eliminate the heel pain I had been experiencing. His no nonsense approach was welcomed. After evaluating all options, we elected to have the issue addressed with surgery. Results have been excellent! Pain free and on the path of returning to an active lifestyle.
I had One other podiatrist from Prevea do one bunion and Dr. Scharer do the other and you can't even notice the scar unlike Prevea doctor. My lay up was a few days and I could walk. Everything about Dr. Scharer gets an A+. Thank for your positive attitude and the ability to make a patient feel at ease.
Outstanding surgeon who cares greatly about his patients he is very compassionate and intelligent. He is helping me get back to a normal life after suffering for over 11 years I am more then happy with him and his work I am proud to call him my surgeon I would recommend him to anyone
