Not going back... – We usually will give a place a second chance, but not this time. The only good thing about the evening was the view and being with great friends. The service was fair and the food was just OK. For the prices they charge, we'll stick to Jake's and forego the view. I guess it would be a good place to go for just drinks....
Excellent – Service was great, food was delicious..especially the clam chowder. The staff will make sure that your visit is more than what you expected. If not, just ask or tell you server. They will make it right!
Not worth it! – The service was not as good as we expected. It was slow and we felt ignored. The food was okay, not great. They still have some work to do to bring this place up to snuff. The new chef has made some difference but it's still Salty's of old.
Busy for a reason. – When you walk into Salty's, it is all about friendliness. As you are led to your seat, you are overwhelmed by the view. There are not enough good things to say about the food. The salmon is fresh, not farm raised. The service is beyond friendly to the point of being part of your family. Not only is the service great, but the servers are genuinely knowledgeable about and honest about the menu. The new chef has made a HUGE difference. We will definate be back.
Amazing!!! – I am from chicago and this is by far one of the best restaurants i have ever been to. The food was very very tasty, the view was great and our server was very friendly. I cant wait to go here again when i visit oregon.
Only one experience – The Salmon Caesar salad is highly recommended. The salmon had a crisp sweet coating that's just delicious, but the salad could have been more favorable. Also tried the Seafood Chowder which was better than average, they offer a dash of cream sherry which was nice. Service was great during lunch, but had to wait awhile for a menu. An overall good experience.
Salty's not so salty – Go to Salty's for a decent meal at a great atmosphere, but expect a crowded situations during the usual busy hours and weekends. The view, the decor, and ambience is what brings in the folks, not the morsels they serve on the plate, in my opinion. All the dishes appeared as if they were hurried, lacking care and detail. Grilled salmon was oily and bland, Sauteed cod was way overcooked and too hard and dried out. We had to fill up on bread, vegetables and dessert. The service can be pretty hurried at ti... read more
Best View Seafood in Portland – Salty's has been a favorite of ours for many years. Romantic dinners with gourmet seafood for her and great steak for me! The cedar planked salmon was the best my wife has ever had! Go there for the view, the food AND the service.
Not worth the money – Noisy. Food portions were small and not good. Very poor service. We were almost ignored, seated at the worst table, and were treated like trash. All because we were older than the "in," party crowd. Twenty-one year old wannabe-yuppies might enjoy such a place, but serious diners wouldn't.
