Our furnace failed inspection - cracked heat exchanger from overheating. HVAC tech said "low airflow killed it, probably dirty ducts." Duct cleaning before new furnace install found returns completely choked with 18 years of pet hair and dust. Blower wheel was 1/2 inch thick with gunk. After full cleaning, new furnace runs perfectly with 0.38 static. Tech said new furnace would have died in 3 years same way if we hadn't cleaned.
