This place shouldn't even have ANY stars... I have been hesitant to share anything, but now I am 21 and thriving so why not... I was placed here in may of 2020 and left December 2020 unsuccessfully discharged. I struggled severely with trauma, suicide and self harm. I was SA'd by a staff member numerous times during my stay, my Dr refused to believe me and instead she put me on ITL for an unknown amount of time, labeled me in my chart as Histrionic and attention seeking. Even if your child has severe behavioral problems DO NOT send them here. I do not understand why people are still sending their children here even after all the negative reviews. LIsten to those of us who have been through this hell hole, and avoid it all costs. If you don't, I'm going to assume you don't truly care about the well being of your child. Immanuel hospital has a treatment center for teens/ children and independent outpatient for adults & teens/ children by the way, which was a lot more helpful for me and no what... read more

I was at the Boys Town RTC for a little under 100 days in 2025. I did have a successful discharge, but it did not help in the long run. I have been hospitalized since then, but have been to a different RTC and I am very stable and healthy now. Boys Town is not a good place. I was in the C unit, which is a girls unit, and I am a transgender male. I was absolutely not treated as a boy, which led to me detransitioning later that year, even though I did not want to.
