i was here for about 4 months back in 2021 for issues with self injury, substance use, risky behavior, and an overwhelmingly depressing attitude. i was STRUGGLING mentally, but my behaviors towards others were not violent or aggressive. boystown doesn’t care. it doesn’t matter if you’re a 14 year old with an eating disorder and social anxiety or a 17 year old with schizophrenia and hyper violent thoughts. they will treat you the same. i did exactly what i was supposed to, and still earned negatives on my card (boystown’s poi... read more
I’ve had my reviews deleted from here before. Weird. I spent 15 months total in this facility as a child. I went there to heal/learn skills that could help me & help me connect w/ my family. I found out I was staying for months the day of, and I cried. They didn't care, they restrained me and told me we could continue once I stopped crying, impossible because I felt more betrayed than anything in the world. I was restrained and secluded because I was str... read more
