Arrived to have my 1 year old treated for a cut on her head and was told it “would not be a long wait” Sent to the fast track area which turned into an 8+ hour wait - Told multiple times by nurse that we were “next to be seen by the doctor”, hours later again told we were still next to be seen yet other people that had just turned up were being seen before us! When I questioned this the same nurse was incredibly rude. We ended up leaving at 4am still untreated - and were told the wait was still another few hours to be seen! ... read more

My wife accidentally hit her head a few days ago, and after developing discomfort, our GP advised us to visit the emergency department for a CT scan. Although there was a long wait at each stage, the doctors and nurses were incredibly kind and reassuring. I especially want to thank the nurses Betty and Liam for their friendliness and care. We truly appreciate the support and professionalism of the entire team. Thank you for taking such good care of my wife.

Careless, incompetent, inconsiderate, racier children’s emergency Dr. James is happy playing with white children and ignoring me as I am from Indian background and not paying no attention to a child in pain suffering from surgery and in need of pain relief. Even when he was briefed by the nurses… he spent more than 40 minutes just entertaining a child in the corridor. I had to go out and request him to come and see my daughter she was in agony and he smiled and continued to play with the child. Only when I wanted to walk out... read more

Terrible experience at the ED. Waited over 5 hours and received no medication at all. No medical imaging was done, and the staff didn’t even bother to explain or share the blood test results. Very disappointing experience.

The staff are lovely and are truely trying their best. They truely care, and I want to acknowledge this However, the severe understaffing meant I did not receive adequate or well organised care. An example of this is clear in my GP at a different practice having to clean and steri strip a wound that the ED staff did not even inspect, despite me being there for 7 hours. Overall, this ED needs a large increase in funding to be able to deliver the care that the local community needs.
