Dr. Bowser doesn't listen or ask any follow-up questions and just dismisses your symptoms and is unwilling to approve any diagnostic tests or treatment plans. I've never had a doctor so uninterested in patient care or wellbeing.
Dr. Bowser was my primary doctor for 3 years. She was OK while I was healthy and needed a physical once a year, but when I got seriously sick she was not just useless but rather harmful. When I was asking for physical therapy, she refused to refer me. When I begged her for a referral to the pain management clinic, she told me that I needed to be in pain for 6 month before I qualify. Dr. Bowser is an excellent doctor. She's very attentive, is ready to take the time needed to discuss your concerns, and seems to have no exaggerated sense of self-importance She's supportive of people making lifestyle choices to support their health, and is both serious about preventive medicine but also is very governed by the evidence: she's not going to order up a test if there's no good reason to think it's going to improve your care.
Dr. Bowser was mostly friendly and addressed my concerns. However, on some occasions I felt she was dismissive and glib, after which I would feel frustrated.
