This facility, while convenient for the residents of Bowie, is inefficiently operated. My husband suffered a laceration to his hand and we arrived at the ER at 10:15 pm. We explained that he was diabetic and that he was still bleeding profusely. At 1:56 am we were STILL waiting to be treated by the doctor. The facility did not have many patients, but everyone seemed to be waiting for an astronomically long time. This is totally unacceptable service.
On 9/2/2021, at 1210 am, I came to the Bowie health center Emergency room for a high fever, UTI, mild lower back pain. I was three hours in and I was diagnosed with a UTI at approximately 3:00 am, I was discharge and given medications for it I was advised by the Doctor that if my fever and pain persist to come to the emergency room. This place is a disaster to work. The job training that is provided is not thorough and there is no refresher training to clearly understand your job. You receive 2 weeks of this job training and thrown out on the floor to sink or swim. You can’t ask for help from the staff because everyone is for themselves. The Manager and Supervisor need communication and people skills training. The Manager says “there is nothing to learn.” We are all learning everyday. You guys should be ashamed of yourself! I have been waiting 5 hours with flu symptoms in the lobby! Utterly ridiculous! If I hadn’t wasted so much time already, I would walk out! Do better, terrible service
