The place was completely gutted in 2006 and was rebuilt again. The restaurant is famous for its wonderful oysters, seafood platter and shrimps. It takes pride in using the freshest ingredients and the catch of the day is always worth trying out. You can also book private parties at this venue.

Recommendedthe freshest oysters possible
Great food, atmosphere, and cold drinks! the menu isn't huge like at most restaurants and that makes this place place that much better. I recommend frogmore stew/low country boil, fried platter, and fried shrimp. Love the crab dip too! The hush puppies are fantastic, I always order more!
Bowen £Island has a long history in the seafood business from fresh oyster caught out of the surrounding rivers to the flounder gigged at night to the fresh mussels crab and clam by order only!!! For cattered events Beaufort stew ,green beans and boston butt barbaque is to be reconned with!!! A true lowcountry seaisland gem!!!! A must see if in Charleston!!! Ask for the Riverratt!!!

Hungry? Recommend a bucket of steamed oysters, as well as the shrimp (half order grilled and half order fried). As my wife said when she shared, the fried was to die for! Look to position yourself for seats to see the amazing view of the sunset !
