most horrific experience of my life..gave me a sedative upon arrival that nearly put into a coma..they did not check on me to see if I was dead or alive for over 20 hours..did not wake me for meals or for my meds that were to be taken 3 times a day..the only reason they even came into my room was because my mother who lives out of state called the Mass State Police to demand they check whether I was even alive after she had been calling the staff for 5 hours to check on me..the staff lied to her and told her that I was awak... read more

Bournewood is an excellent hospital for treating acute psychosis. Dr. Jackson, in particular, goes out of her way to collaborate with family. They don't just check boxes but interact with the patient in a caring/bonding way to lift their spirits. Unlike some other psychiatric hospitals, they take the time to assess the effect of each new medicine, and try different medicines until the patient is truly stabilized before discharge. We are forever grateful.

If I could rate less I would. Trash hospital. Insanely negligent staff, that care too much about their makeup looking good and checking their phones in front of patients who aren’t allowed to bathe properly or have phone to have them to keep an eye on them. Traumatized by the behavior of other patients that the staff did a terrible awful job of keeping an eye on. When mentioned to staff that the behavior of other patients wasn’t helpful to me, the staff memember got SO deffensive and near yelled at me about not telling her h... read more
