Beware surprise bills - I went in with a question related to external swelling of my ears and during my visit the doctor cleaned inside my ears. I didn't think much about it until I was billed for a separate $100 cleaning procedure after the fact (this is after paying my insurance co-pay for the office visit itself). My primary doctor recommended a professional ear cleaning during my annual physical, so I scheduled this with Dr. Maschka at Boulder Valley ENT. Doctor Maschka came into the exam room looking as if he had just woken up from a nap. He glanced in each ear, said, “they look healthy”, recommended I clean each ear with a vinegar and peroxide solution, “a few times per month should do it”, and sent me on my way (isn’t this why I scheduled an appointment with you?
