Ask for blackened, got grilled, gumbo was all veg.,no shrimp,bathrooms were outside, had to use an umbrella, apps were good.
We had po boys, gumbo, fries and catfish and it was all so delicious! We are now repeat customers! This place is right near the water, kinda tucked behind the shell gas. The flavor is perfect! 👌
We had a cup of gumbo and the green tomatoes. Both were fantastic. The tomatoes were especially excellent. Then we had the voodoo pasta with blackened gator and the catfish po’ boy. These were also really tasty. The catfish had a light crispy fry and the fries were brilliant. Finally we shared the bananas foster bread pudding which was epic! We asked what this was like (we are not local!) and the explanation was spot on! “Jiggly cinnamon-y bread with caramel and bourbon sauce and banana”.
Our food was good but it seems there was a miscommunication with our server and the kitchen staff because we told our server my wife has severe celiac disease and she immediately encountered the effects (intense bloating and stomach pain) upon eating some of her food. Server told us she informed the kitchen staff and that they would take proper cross contamination precautions so we feel like we were lied to or not taken seriously. For reference we both ordered steaks which were marked gluten friendly on the menu.
