Awful experience. I’m relieved he’s retired. I found his approach negligent, dismissive, and condescending. My current surgeon confirmed that his earlier recommendations were inaccurate — if I’d followed them, the outcome could have been catastrophic. It’s frustrating that several of his former patients, including specialists I’ve spoken with, describe the same pattern. I’m just glad his practice has closed.
Dr. Banco skillfully performed an ALIF (L4-L5-S1) coming up on 20 years ago. He changed my trajectory and without his interventions, I would not be where I am today.
It’s been 6 years since my surgery. Life changing. I had had to make some changes on my end too but I am living life pain free! So happy with the care and consideration from Dr. Banco and his staff. I will continue to sing their praises
He malpositioned the 3 lumbar screws of a fusion spacer device, placed it in upside down, and put the fixation screws into my L5 nerve roots so I woke up with severe R leg pain. He was nowhere to be found for 48 hrs. Took 6 weeks for him to revise my surgery and try to get 2 of the screws out. He only got one out as there was so much scarring as he delayed for so long. In 2013-2014 Dr Banco performed three surgeries on my neck. Two cervical fusions and then a laminectomy. He saved me from severe pain. It was a most excellent experience. Dr Banco is an awesome Dr. . Recently I have been experiencing severe neck pain. After a CT scan and MRI it has been discovered that FIVE of the eight screws in my neck are very loose.
