The office space is great. The people and the company culture were awful. There’s a lot to be said for trade offs we make for access to privilege; it’s just that one needs to be aware when they’re not being invited in as equals but as servants to the people they actually value. There is and was a very clear delineation between whose ego needs catering to and whose brain drain they want to exploit so the privileged don’t have to waste their time using their brains for academically rigorous work.
