I love that Dr Bortuzzo tells it like it is. In my experience, Dr Bortuzzo was not rude, bitter, or unprofessional as some other reviews have stated. She told me exactly what she was going to do, what she needed me to do, and she didn’t sugar coat things. She was punctual, asked lots of questions, listened well, and was thorough in her explanation of a treatment plan. Hopefully this is how our interactions will continue to be, because I think she’s great!

I tried to make an appointment with Dr. Bortoozo, but they declined without a referral from my primary care physician. My insurance plan does not require this from me for specialists, and allows me to call whatever specialist is on their list. But Dr. Bortoozo seems to be part of some side conspiracy to deny me my insurance privileges. I said, "You want me to pay for an appointment with my primary care physician in order to get a referral to you?" The appointment lady said, "Usually, it just takes a phone call." I walked out and have never done than.Mid way through the interview, I thought well you don't like her but get over it and get the procedure done. But it just continued to go downhill. . She is abrasive and rude, hates it when you ask questions. Is old school, wants it her way and only her way. She is angry and rude and she will treat you as a subordinate whenever she can. And if you are on Carondelet's Patient Portal Network she will put stuff on there that has nothing to do with why you went there in the first place. I had to remove my Patient Portal account. Don't waste your time or energy.
