I had occasion to visit the Borland-Groover clinic in Nocatee in December 2022. I have to say that Dr. Navas was a breath of fresh air. He was caring, listened to my concerns, was very professional, and quickly earned my trust. Dr. Navas' nurse, Robert, helped me sort through some issues getting some issues resolved in scheduling a procedure.....most helpful! They charged me three times what blue cross pays for services. I am a year short of my ten years needed before my next screening. After a five minute consult with the doctor about my next screening I was charged $320 and told my insurance does not cover this fee. Turns out they do, but they only pay $120 thus the difference is required to be refunded. Same exact for my wife. She just had her screening done. Dr. Whitaker is a great physician. I went to see him after a positive cologuard test. I had no wait, he explained the colonoscopy procedure, and contacted me by phone when I was having issues with my stomach. His nurse was wonderful, so patient, knowledgeable, and caring. I honestly wish I could leave zero stars for this rating and the sad part is I'm not really rating BGC as a whole but one specific person who has soured the taste in my mouth for the entire company. I'm 41 years old and I've had Chron's for over 20 years so I've had many doctors and my interactions with Dr. Mark Fleisher from the office downtown was the worse experience I've ever had with a doctor in my entire life. A day before Hurricane Dorian , I finally got to see an specialist (doctor Cortez) , I was in Er ,3 times within a week and I got diagnosed with Diverticulitis and pancreatitis,I was very sick with those antibiotics that Er doctor prescribed.
