I loved my dinner! I got the tteokbokki with bulgogi special. The sauce was absolutely killer! Lots of good umami flavor. It was the star of the dish and a grwat first taste of tteokbokki. I thought that I'd never get to try it, as most times the sauce is spicy, but this version was savory. The beef was fine, nothing too special, but clearly it was needed to make the sauce so good. I spent over $17 for a bowl of Japchae. Very disappointed that there was three or four crumbs of meat amongst the noodles. Instant noodles at home would have been more satisfying. Big bummer. Host was nice though.
The place reeks severely of rotten chicken, and the meat in my dish tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave.
