I like this place for sentimental reasons. Before all these fancy gourmet burger joints popped up everywhere, Boll Weevil was the king of burgers in San Diego. For a decent burger and a throwback (70's-80's) atmosphere, Boll Weevil is the place to go.

Boll Weevil is my FAVORITE resturant! They have amazing service. DO NOT listen to the other bad reviews because they have no clue on what they are talking about. I have been to Boll Weevil millions of times and I have NEVER EVER had a bad burger or bad service. I take my family and kids there all the time. It is a very kid friendly place. And by the way the burgers are not frozen and they do NOT taste anything like the nasty vomit Mc Donald's! Good selection Yes the atmosphere is nothing special, but that's not what you go for., although they do have bluegrass night. They have a good selection of food for the whole family and a great kids menu!

I visit SD every couple of months to visit my son. No trip is complete without a stop at Boll Weevil. Yeah, it's just a burger, but the flavor of the meat is unmatched. Combine that with the condiment tray to dress it up and it is far and away the best burger going (make the double-double taste like a happy meal).
