They've gone COMPLETELY down hill! Their soup and salad bar was very sparce and boring.

I’m genuinely surprised this establishment is still in operation given the state of cleanliness and food quality. The restaurant was visibly dirty.. the plates and silverware at the soup and salad bar were not clean, and the highchair provided for my 8 month old had visible mold and dried ketchup. The floors were sticky, and there were gnats flying around throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food quality matched the lack of cleanliness, leaving a very disappointing overall experience.
I frequently fly into Detroit and noticed that this Big Boy restaurant was near the airport. I had a few hours before my flight and decided to go and see if the menu still carried the same items as the Shoney’s we used to have in Charlotte, NC years ago. To my delight the cook was on his game and he prepared the best hamburger that I’ve had in a long time. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.
