Rest In Peace. I heard you were a fixture in the community for many years and a wonderful man. I pulled on your door and found it locked, then a passerby filled me in about your passing a few months back.
The epitome of the old- fashioned barbershop. It’s been thriving for 51 years, in the same location by owner Bob Parks who’s been cutting hair for 63 years. It is located at 313 Gay Street, in downtown Cambridge. Master Barber Bob Parks is still going strong well into his 80’s. #SaveandaHairCut #Bob’sBarberShop
I went once and my haircut was ok, not great. I went back a second time and left with one side of my head shaved to the skin, the top not cut at all and the other side half cut to the skin. Both times I asked for a trim. Honestly, it felt like it was malicious. The only other possibility is he is losing his mental capacities. Also, rude to me. I had to cut all my hair off to have any possibility of having a normal haircut again.
This is what a barber shop is supposed to be. Great haircut. Bob has been in this area for a long time. He is an Army veteran. Needless to say, you're in for some good old fashioned conversation and wisdom.
They have the best barbers in town. I had an awesome experience!
