Do not entrust your boat to this business if you value your time or money. Yes, there are some satisfied customers out there, but it’s a big gamble you’ll be taking to find out if you will be one of them. Read to end for the full story. Rob told us we were #2 in line for bottom painting. Repeatedly did not answer or return calls and then called 4 weeks later telling us to pick up boat and when we arrived the work wasn’t done. Dishonesty, poor quality workmanship/control, disorganized, and lack of knowledge describes Boatworks of Alaska. The manager, Rob, went through and listed out what labor would cost. Estimated was $1200. Contract agreement with labor 3 times the original estimate was next give to me to sign before work was to start. Five hours to remove a kicker motor? After objecting to the labor cost it was reduced to near the original estimate. They require all materials and half the labor to be paid up front. Makes you wonder if the... read more

Unfortunately, we paid a lot of money to get our boat ready for the summer by taking it to Boatworks of Alaska. We get it to Homer, launch the boat and it doesn't start. My Husband opens the cowl up to see what the deal is and holy crap, we have water pouring in. Thank god we didn't go out because the boot that the throttle cable goes through (found this after we pulled the boat out of the water) was ripped so ergo a major leak.
