About this business
Owners John and Dawn Herring, MSU graduates of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, came to college and never left! They opened the original Boardtown Garden Center & Landscaping in 1979. Landscaping continued although the garden center closed shop in 2000. After a hiatus of 14 years, Boardtown Gardens & More is the rejuvenation of their original business with a few added twists. Boardtown has beautiful, healthy plants. Also an interesting place to shop for antiques and gifts. I love it.
Admittedly, I am a complete novice in the world of plants and gardening. I came in with just an idea and hundreds of questions ranging from plant durability in the Mississippi heat to maintenance schedule. Every single one of them was answered and the customer service was top tier. The Herring's KNOW their stuff. It's very apparent they have decades of experience and wisdom with their craft.
