For Aussie's visiting Santa Monica and expecting a hit of decent coffee or an avocado toast you will be disappointed. I went to another branch of Bluestone in NY years ago and it was great - perfect coffee and a decent avocado toast with chilli flakes. Which made it more disappointing that it's now an over-priced chain selling mediocre coffee (no ceramic even if you're having in) and insultingly small portions for the price. I ordered hot food for pickup today. The sticker on the lid said “use by 3/10”. We are obviously past that date so why are they charged full price for expired food? Gross and cheap
Came in this morning - love how early this place opens compared to other coffee shops in the area. Staff was friendly and it was a genuinely good cup of coffee. Ill be back!
The barista asked me what size cappuccino I would like and I responded to him that I thought cappuccinos were only one size. Next time I will leave when this happens. I ended up with a passive aggressively made beverage. My undrinkable coffee was way too hot and he made sure to align the sipping hole with the seam so that it dripped on my pants and stained them. He wins this round because I paid and got an undrinkable cup of coffee and dirty clothes, but I will never be back to this very below average and rude coffee shop.
Place shows generousity and kindness. I managed to get free water and a free small chocolate waffle bar from the café. Definitely give this place a chance they also have outlets but no built in table charging. Definitely will arrive here if it's nearby at the Santa Monica area.
