So, DO NOT ever trust Blue Pearl "emergency" vet care! My 2 1/2 yr old GSD came down with bloat last night about 7. Almost every vet in the area refers you to these clowns. I called and they informed me they were closing at 10 and taking no new animals. I ended up in Columbia at CVet....wonderful, very professional people. They took him immediately into surgery and he is recovering. Bloat is a life threatening issue and every handler/breeder I talked to today said they had never heard of a emergency vet turning away a ... read more

BluePearl has caused major, permanent damage to my dog and has blatantly lied on all documentation about my dog's condition and progress. What a truly horrible place with unethical veterinarians. Someone needs to take accountability and responsibility for their negligence, and they should not employ horrible veterinarians like this. I took my dog, Stella to BluePearl for a leg injury she had while jumping and playing out in the backyard. I thought she tore or broke something in her leg. They said they would like to sedate h... read more

We took our sweet dog that was 15 years old and instead of telling us that our dog is dying they wanted to do all this testing, etc on her. They kept bringing out a pricing schedule for all the procedures, medicine, etc. They wanted to keep her overnight and do a blood transfusion, etc. We instead took her home with medicine that they prescribed. The total cost was $1,100 but it would have been thousands of dollars more if we had done what they wanted. Our dog died the next day. They are similar to used car salesmen and... read more

Asking questions of the medical staff is not welcomed. It’s as though they feel threatened personally.

DONT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS EMERGENCY CENTER. Heed all warnings in my comment. Dr. Courtney Hughs and her staff’s main concern were if we had enough money to cover every scenario that my dog may or may not encounter instead of treating her as an emergency patient. Sadly, my dog DIED because her condition had gotten worse while waiting to see if I could be approved for their suggested “care credit” that they could control although I told them I had my own. For them to even start critical care be prepared to sign a paper stat... read more

9 months ago my poor cat had to be put down (or did he?) for fecal impaction. PVSEC put me off for 12 days, giving me laxatives, even when i told them the laxatives were not working. I requested they do the $4000 procedure to remove the impaction. They had no problem taking xrays blood tests and the works, then to tell me he was not stable enough to do the procedure. Kept me waiting on 2 occasions for 20 hours total...disgusting and will NEVER go back there. Poor guy was euthanized. This "so-called" Associate Vet who didn'... read more

If I could give Blue Pearl 0 stars, then I would. Unfortunately Birdeye requires that I at least give them one. My dog was referred to Blue Pearl for overnight monitoring with a severe pneumonia. During the course of his stay, a veterinary technician negligently entered his weight as pounds when it should have been kilograms. Accordingly, the medicine they gave my dog was for a dog significantly larger than him. It caused him to have a seizure. Blue Pearl took 9 hours to call and tell us that the seizure was a result o... read more

The absolute worst vet care! They take peoples money and charge people for things that weren’t done! My son was charged almost $1000 for them to wrap Coban and a plastic piece around his dogs leg that wasn’t even properly done didnt keep the dogs knee immobile. I have requested a 💯refund and awaiting a return call. They even talked that the only cure was amputation. Our dog is in surgery and only required 2 pins that were optional but what was deemed best due to the active nature of the dog at and amazing vet in Nashville t... read more

I am so grateful to Blue Pearl Overland Park, Ks. There is a veterinarian shortage in my city (I later learned it is nation wide) so I drove 70 miles to have my dog’s eye infection treated. Everyone was pleasant, concerned and professional. The fees were not out of line and so worth my baby’s health. Thank you Dr Dodi!
