Worse place to take your pet in a emergency they want to charge you $2000 for few test too expensive and the doctor are not nice at all . They won’t even put Iv fluid nothing if you don’t do the whole test or treatment . they give you the option to put your pet down for $40 If you can’t afford . Go somewhere else like I did my dog is eating playing happy today and it cost me $300 buck .
This review is going to be long. It took be a while to be able to write it because I didn’t want to relive the experience. But I hope this story and its honesty saves someone else’s animal. I rescued my dog, Riley, right after college. She was a senior girl. A mini schnauzer. She lived a great three years with me…she had lots of energy and loved to sleep and play and visit the dog park. In early March of 2020, she got sick for the first time in a year. I took her to the vet and her liver values were extremely high. This was... read more
My husband and I brought our Bernese Mountain Dog in because of pains he was having. Our first time at Blue Pearl was last December. They were fabulous and so kind! This time not so much. Because of safety measures during the COVID-19 outbreak we were told the estimate verbally on the phone while we waited outside. They recommended a rush x-ray review for $80. We agreed verbally to the $80 among the other charges. They then told us we needed an ultrasound but that would have to wait until Monday when the person performing th... read more
To say these people are pricey is an understatement. I had to bring my dog there after urgent vet referred me to them because he had to be monitored overnight. Immediately they ask for $2100 on the credit card "just in case" what might happen. By morning, my bill was at $900. I call and they are working on a "treatment plan" even though they are not his vet. He was just brought there to be stabilized. Now, the plan is to keep him 24 to 48 more hours, at an additional cost of $3100 - $5100. Luckily I found a place in S... read more
They rolled out my dead dog in a cardboard box in front of my autistic son with no warning and notification, after requesting her pink blanket and things. (This was a support dog for my son.) This was only after they discouraged us to let us take her home when we requested. And, finally they performed services on her that we insisted against. To date, no one person has offered an apology or act of restitution to my son. My son would not let go of the box. The police had to help us bring her to the car because my son would no... read more
Horrible. WE have been going here with our sick dog on and off for a while for emergencies, they have his history. We went in back in Feb. our dog was vomiting severely and drooling after we used a topical on him not sure if that was causing this. They knew of his severe reactions to things and sensitive. In addition he has had x-rays and such both there and at the other er location when we had to go there at one point. All this being said, our dog was NOT checked for liver enzymes, they were aware that he had slightly ... read more
This review is unfortunate. There were a lot of splendid and caring people at Blue Pearl we got the opportunity to interact it. I just wish the institution in general had a heart, or at least a caring or culpable bone in their system. Our dog nearly died in September courtesy of a drug being administered via Blue Pearl (Mycohphenolate), and a drug they continued to tell us to give her after she'd gotten sick and been hospitalized there. It is a drug our later research proved to regularly produce the Gastrointestinal issu... read more
Took 3 visits to my primary to find out why our dog was in such distress after a visit to Dr Otte for a diagnosis and she has an injury to her back. I knew when they said she was compliant they were lying to us. Within one hour of bringing her home she was in major distress. Hiding and in great distress after 3 visits to our primary found her problem was an injury to her back I have no idea what they did to her under their care, but she is in worse condition than when we brought her in for a diagnosis for intestinal prob... read more
St. Petersburg Fl. 19 January 2020 Our 9 pound 15 year old Silver Toy Poodle “Cleo” took ill with coughing and difficulty breathing. Our normal Vet was unavailable so we took her to Blue Pearl in Clearwater Florida. A technician said she was oxygen deprived at 86% and put her in an oxygen cage. The Vet on duty suggested X-rays the results of which indicated a pneumonia like lung infection but no heart enlargement. She forwarded the X-rays to their radiologist in Tampa who said it was not pneumonia but rather congestive heart... read more
