Very happy with my experience at the Fox Valley Referral Center for my recent visit for my 9.5 year old lab mix dog who had been having breathing issues for a week. Dr Springborn was very professional and communicated with me via phone throughout my dog’s visit. My dog is feeling much better a day after her visit. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely use the referral center again if needed for my dog!!! Thank you to everyone there for their help and expertise!
I will NEVER go to Blue Pearl emergency vet again! You told me when I called ahead that it'd be an hour wait. You didn't mention there was no waiting room. We waited for 3.5 hours in my car with NO updates at all. Finally, I called and spoke to the vet who had my puppy's age and symptoms wrong despite my clearly stating what was going on. My poor baby was in a kennel feeling stressed for over 3.5 hours. I brought her in because she's been lethargic and didn't eat today and had diarrhea once. You only aggravated her symptoms... read more

Sedated cat for X-ray then again for ultrasound, gave three Lasix injections, two other drugs, an IV, drew blood, didn’t care if he ate at all or urinated, and god knows what else happened there. Too much for an older cat with breathing and heart problems. Supposedly put on oxygen but you can’t go inside because of COVID, so who knows. They can come outside and take your money though. They could have gone a little slower with treatment but tried to get as much money as fast as they could. Only concerned with money, not the p... read more
The clinic on 5th avenue talked me into euthanizing my cat who had cancer last night, but mentioned sepsis. afterwards i did some research and realized what happened was my cat was in septic shock because of the sardines i had given her the day before. they said she was dying from cancer causes, but it was sepsis. The only way it was cancer related is that she was more vulnerable to septic shock, because of the cancer. i was honest about my financial situation and they knew i didn't have all the money to pay to stabilize he... read more
We took our beloved cat Richard to this clinic to unblock his urinary tract. Immediately they requested us to deposit money before they even looked at our cat (their priority is money). Then Dr Mettenburg offered a $3,700 procedure. We felt like we had no choice to save our cat so we went through with it. 48 hours later, they called to say the condition came right back, UNDER THEIR SUPERVISION. He was suffering yet again, after this expensive procedure. We called other doctors and they were horrified and confused at our expe... read more
Worst customer service I’ve ever received. The receptionist was SO condescending. Kept talking over me, refusing to listen to any questions, made snarky remarks and raised her voice at me. And then she would remind me that they are the top of the line emergency clinic. Definitely not top of the line when it comes to customer service, compassion, listening to others, or caring for anyone who’s beloved pup is facing a life threatening situation. Front desk is COLD and HEARTLESS. Don't go there. So glad I saw who they were BEFO... read more
This is a late post but better late than never.. My dog fractured her right hind leg from landing wrong while playing fetch on 08/01/19. I brought her in to Blue Pearl in Paramus, they took xrays and diagnosed a tarsal medial fracture. ER vet predicted that she may need a partial tarsal arthrodesis. They placed a splint and bandage, then advised me to follow up with the surgical team that same week. I followed up as directed and met with one of the surgeons. As per our consultation, she recommended to treat it medically by... read more
We took our cat in to be seen by the Neurologist, Dr. MacKillop. We originally took her into the ER, hoping that we could get her in to see him faster (she was having "seizures" regularly and we'd been to two other vets in our area). I don't suggest you take your pet to the ER unless it's a REAL, SUPER emergency - the ER doctors sound very busy and can be short (not in a mean way, they just have a lot of pets to see!). We brought her back early the next morning so that she could be seen by Dr. MacKillop. He called me a f... read more
