The negligence and disorganization of this facility cost our beautiful girl her life and left ours flipped upside down. It was avoidable and they ripped the chance of saving her from our grasp. No manager would return our calls, not mine or our primary vets who also called and asked for additional info as to why such negligence was displayed. They have completely ignored us as if it never happened. That's just the short side of it. If you love your animals, TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE. Trust me.
I would give less than one star. I carried my beloved Pom there on June 8,2020; due to COVID I had to stay in the car; I tried to explain he couldn’t walk; he must be paralyzed since his back left leg would not support him. They took him in and I sat in the parking lot from 7pm to 9pm and no word; I called and was told he was resting; still no word; at 11pm the vet called and said his back left leg had no use and they wanted to keep him overnight and perform an MRI in the morning. We recently took our dog Stella to Berks Animal Emergency and Referral Center. She ate a corn cob from the fields that surround our home and became very ill. She ended up needing surgery to remove a 1 inch lodged corn cob in her small intestine. I have nothing but positive comments for all staff at this facility. All doctors and nurses were super friendly and attentive. We were able to call and check on Stella at any time....and all staff was more than willing to give us updates. The only reason I give them 3 stars is because I've had both exceptional care there, and then not! Our first experience with Blue Pearl was with the oncologist, Dr. Swanson. She's not just a capable and experienced cancer vet, but a warm, compassionate human as well. Though our circumstances and time with her were heartbreaking ( terminal cancer ) she made it bearable. Took my animal here, they knew she was on her deathbed. And instead of putting her down or telling me to take her home for her last moments.. They pushed for more treatment..ended up passing right after a antibiotic shot. And left 6 kittens she had prior that day.
Rude, these people shameful, trying to manipulate & bully customers who into paying BIG BUCKS when their are desperate for help with their pet! Just awful, they try to make you feel like you don't deserve to have a beloved pet if your on a fixed income & not able to pay HUGE bills ($1000.0 +) for pet care!

I wish we would have read other reviews before bringing our puppy here but sadly that wasnt the case so hopefully other people will reserch before coming here because all they want is money. Our puppy wasnt feeling himself and it was after hours so the closest option was here. After a 4 hour wait they finally looked at him and said that he was just uncomfortable from aome food bloat. I was so surprised to read the poor reviews for this facility. I guess it really depends on which Dr you are going to. Phoebe has been going for physical therapy for a torn ACL. Dr Schmidtchen & her assistant April have both been incredibly supportive & have helped tremendously. Phoebe is normally terrified to go to the vet. They make her feel as comfortable as possible & she loves all the attention. The front desk staff have all been friendly, polite & professional.
