I was reluctant due to having my own medical trauma and lack of trust in the medical system and my little guy doesn't take going to vet very well but this ended up being a great visit. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay but the price was fair. $95 for the visit and basic exam, then maybe $50 for antibiotics and $30 for pain meds, then a few other things it ended up costing $230- not crazy, pretty fair for a visit without lab work or images and four meds. They offered me same-day service on one of the busiest days of the year vets, despite not being an established patient. The front office staff of Haley, Samantha, and Cassandra were very kind at had me in my room ASAP. Lauren was an excellent technician, not delaying me at all. Her and Dr. Hopkins worked within my timeline to get my pet the care she needed. They presented options fairly, did not push me in any direction and were very transparent about the finances. I had to put down my 17 year old recently. I thought about doing the at home thing, but I took solace in knowing Dr. Lake would make me feel the most at home and the most comfortable for my babg. I can’t truly express how much it meant to me that she was there and the vet tech. Not only did I appreciate it, but I know my dog did. I felt so at ease and comfortable for one can be during that process. She has way with animals and you can tell she cares so much. Dr. Lake is a gem, and I’ve been going to her for years. Bluebonnet animal hospital on Oltorf has always been awesome to my wife and I’s cats. Everyone working there is very professional and friendly. Would highly recommend
These guys are trash, and you should look elsewhere. After giving a shot to my cat a few years back in the interscapular region - something even rural vets have known for years not to do - she coincidentally developed a cancerous tumor in the exact same location last year. In what, for all I know, was just a calculated attempt to dodge accountability, they misdiagnosed it as osteosarcoma, which is extremely, extremely rare in cats.
