Head over to the Southtown neighborhood for something different at this brewpub. The huge copper brewing tanks here figure prominently, and a sizable patio offers a view of the tranquil river. Along with the variety of beers, it offers standard bar fare such as burgers and chicken wings, as well as a few surprises including sautéed chicken and artichokes and grilled salmon. Food – Blue Star has one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life...and I've eaten a lot of burgers.

Good Food and Brew – In a large warehouse like setting the Blue Star serves excellent food - try the onion rings they are made with "real" beer batter and melt in your mouth. The pizza is also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful telling us about where to go in San Antonio. Great value for the money.
Forget the crowds – Juicy, well grilled, fresh veggies, delicious fries. And if you come during non-working hours and enjoy a freshly brewed beer: THIS IS THE PLACE. (Forget what the sensationalist masses say, and come where the burger conoisseurs are.)
