A unique place, among many others We have been to the Blue Parrot on several occasions while in Gettysburg. It did seem to take a while for our food but was worth it in the end. This place is unique and I think we will visit again during our next visit to Gettysburg. However, I am not convinced the food is fairly priced. Gettysburg has many unique places to eat.
Blue Parrot Bistro is a tourist trap beware: slow service, rude servers and an overpriced menu.
Different in a Good Way The appeal of the Blue Parrot is that it's not the run-of-the-mill "chicken with two sides" type of restaurant. They offer unusual but interesting combinations of flavors. I've eaten there dozens of times and have never been disappointed with my order. Everything from their appetizers to their desserts is delicious. I highly recommend the crab bisque! The service is excellent and the setting is charming and intimate - a perfect place for a romantic meal or special occasion.
Good Food On our recent visit to Gettysburg for Remembrance Weekend we happened upon the Blue Parrot Bistro. Very nice restaurant, service was good and so was the price. Had a delicious meatloaf with mashed potatoes piled on top with caramelized onions and topped with Gruyere cheese. Dessert for us was an apple turnover with vanilla ice cream. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Gettysburg.
