I really was hoping our stay here would be more pleasant since we booked 5 rooms for 4 nights to celebrate a parent's 80th birthday. The positives were the happy hour and breakfast; the service staff seem to work really hard to keep up--and were mostly friendly. The ability to check out beach chairs was also a nice amenity. The grounds, though, including the gazebo out front, seemed rundown in places. Searched for an affordable hotel near the beach for weeks and finally found Blue Lantern. What's a wonderful Inn! The service was amazing. They provided beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. It was a less than 10 minute drive to multiple beaches. Views were perfect. Lots of restaurants to choose from near by. Rooms and bathrooms were large. Manager's reception and breakfast included. Wish we stayed longer!

The intimate scale, the fireplace rooms, and the harbor views make it feel distinctly OC coastal in a way the larger resorts don't quite capture. A reliable suggestion when clients want something charming and locally authentic rather than a full resort experience.
