Blue Heron Nature Center is not ready for its close up. The locked “Visitor Center”/pre school immediately sets an unfriendly tone. We did see a blue heron and two squirrels, but that was it. The dead squirrel on the path and the trash in the ponds at the entrance were off-putting as well. Great idea, poor execution.

A peaceful place, so close to Atlanta. I was quite surprised to see how clean Nancy Creek was. I didn't expect that in such a populated area. A great place to take young ones.
We love to go and see the turtles in the pond and we have seen a heron there before. It's just a nice place to spend a little time. Tons of turtles to see!
Very nice intown park... Nancy Creek flows through. Ran across a nice box turtle and a very tiny moccasin. (it was very very small, but was taking no crap from us as we tried to move it on it's way) Great shaded parking and the on premise staff very helpful Stop by and tell Brooke Hello
