We have stayed at the Blue Dolphin many times over the years and it is still my "go to" place in Sanibel. If you like the laid back atmosphere and old style Florida. ....you will fall in love with it. It's about the closet place you can stay by the beach and walk out your room just a few feet to the ocean. The location is more private because it's close to privately owned houses, compared to the more crowded end of the beach with more hotels and condos. The manager Charlene is awesome! Thank you for a wonderful stay! From the managers great rapport with us to the secluded rooms, lack of little kids running around, and the promise of the beach fulfilled- there were even more shells than we believed possible! We will be back for sure!

The furniture and decor were straight from the '80s. The bathroom was dirty and the place smelled like a mixture of mildew and smoke. The bed was uncomfortable as well as the couch. There was no privacy sitting on the porch. The only nice part of about it was easy access to the beach.
