I would give them 0 stars, but that is not an option. They have denied everything my oncologist says I need. I have lymphedema (which doesn’t go away) and a pump was denied because I not longer meet criteria. They denied my continuous read monitor, and now a medication. It would be easier to save the premiums and pay for these things myself. They are completely useless for insurance.
When I get help they never answer my request either by mail, by email or by phone. It is bad health service a have.
Our employer just switched to Blue Cross & Blue Shield from Aetna. My wife requires diabetes medication that she has been taking for years. Blue Cross & Blue Shield denied coverage and the appeal process is taking WEEKS, while her blood sugar is out of control. Absolutely awful insurance company. High monthly payments, only to have them deny removing a 12 cm tumor from my abdomen as not medically necessary. As a medical provider myself, this company is in the business of making money ONLY and NOT proving care to their patients. BCBS should be absolutely ashamed of itself.
Their insurance sucks. Can't wait til I can get another company out of my jobs leash if you will.
