Ziegler used knee meniscus in an attempt to "fix" the glenoid portion of a shoulder replacement. That was in 2007. I have been in pain ever since. Three post-surgery visits that year with him, I asked why I was still in pain. Each time, he said he didn't know. I went to another surgeon who told me that medical studies stated knee meniscus is not a successful option for glenoid repair. It just crumbles & disappears. That is what happened & now I suffer from his ignorance. As I wrote once before, he ruined my life.

As a career OR RN, as I believe I have additional insight into surgeons. Dr. Zeigler replaced both of my shoulders, 3 months apart. The left and worse shoulder could only be raised from my side 35° and had no remaining rotator cuff. I was in constant pain. It was a reverse total shoulder operation and prosthesis hardware. A very bad shoulder was good enough at 3 months that my right shoulder was replaced with a standard total shoulder. I've had SEVERAL surgeries done by Dr. Ziegler and he WAS the ONLY surgeon I let operate on me unfortunately his bedside manner and professionalism ended after he got me addicted to Oxycontin! Then blamed me and basically abandoned me and my treatment. Suddenly I no longer need ANY PAIN MEDS even though I was on Massive doses of Ocycontin for 10 years. ******Find a doctor that actually cares about his patients more than his wallet or ego. I've had SEVERAL surgeries done by Dr. Ziegler and he is the ONLY surgeon I'll let operate on me after 24+ years of dealing with shoulder issues. His staff is top notch and always helpful. HIGHLY recommended!
