Well menopause brought me curly hair lol. A shock and surprise for me but a very fun one as well!! I discovered that not everyone knows how to cut curly hair… it’s a different approach than simply cutting straight hair. I posted on my neighborhood FB page asking for recommendations and Emily Payne came highly recommended! So I decided to try her out. And how thankful I am that I did. I made an appointment back in February with Tricia Young (salon owner) for a balayage. I'm an Asian woman with very dark hair looking to go blonde. I understand it's not easy, but it is possible because I've done it myself. My appointment was set in February for July 24th. “I’m a beautician, not a magician!”!!!! An apparent new client came in this AM to go from long naturally black hair to white. The stylist patiently explained how this process would bring unsatisfactory results. The client proceeded to push . She even accused the stylist of costing her $300 because she took off work to keep the appointment! Client left in a huff and in tears. I admired how patient the stylist was. She’s been a stylist for 20 plus years and knows what she was talking about. “Beauticians NOT magicians”
