In 2024, they were pretty good saving me money over my prevoius tax place, but under estimated my state quarterlies. I'm praying I don't get penalized. I had an appointment to prepare my taxes and brought up an IRS rule for Head of Household status that applies in a very common situation. The preparer wouldn’t acknowledge or verify it. He explained that his software only allowed entering months of dependent residency, and anything under seven months removed Head of Household, even though the IRS provides clear guidance on how this should be determined.
