Blind Tiger

4.5

About this business

Blind Tiger has been around since 1995, and a tight knit circle of loyal patrons still frequent this place, which has humbly remained a favorite drinking destination for locals and newbies. The reason Blind Tiger continues to stay on top is because of their carefully crafted beer selection coupled with some of the best pub grub you'll find in New York. With an idiosyncratic choice of 30 draft beers, plus more than 80 bottled varieties, beer snobs will be left spoiled for choice. The food menu is nothing fancy, but there's so... read more

Amazing beer selection. – Great beer selection; stuff that is really hard anywhere else in the city. OK kind of vibe which varies greatly depending on the day and hour. Busiest hours: Cool if you are ~30s and a happening kind of yuppie. Slower times: awesome, get to enjoy your beer.

Great beer, avoid nights – I've been a patron of the BT since its first year. I'm pleased it has reopened. The beers are great and the selection is even more impressive then the previous incarnation. But it's best to be visited during daylight hours when it's quieter and you can enjoy the superior ales. Unfortunately. the kids are out at night and the place loses all its charm. But during the day, when you can have an actual conversation, or read a book while sipping a great Belgian ale, that's when the Tiger is special.

Still the Best – Blind Tiger was my favorite bar for the longest time. The Hudson Street location was a perfect spot and the place had a great vibe to it. After too long an absence, I'm glad to say that I really like the new location as well. Once you step inside, you'll get that old Tiger feeling back. I didn't think it was possible, but the beer selection is even better than before. You can not find 3/4 of the draft beers here at any area bar, plus the handpump ales are awesome. Oh yeah, they serve some good chow here now ... read more

Good to have it back – Good to have this place back after their long absence. Not quite the same down-n-dirty, low key vibe as the old location but they make up for it with even more excellent tap selections. Good to have the Tiger back.

Awesome beer selection, exclusive in some cases, but please bring back the sandwich variety! – We never knew Blind Tiger in its original location. We found what became for us a cozy lunch spot with the most addictive pressed sandwiches, one of the best chili con carnes I've ever eaten and a warm and friendly atmosphere and staff. We sorely missed them when they closed, we understood due to the costs of operating without their liquor license in an expensive neighborhood. We truly started craving their grilled veggie sandwich ... read more

Next to the Tiger, DBA is DOA – What's not to love! The Blind Tiger is back! After a completely packed first night - 1,200 people signed the petition for the Tiger to be granted a license, and I think they all turned up at the same time - things have returned to normal, it feels like the new BT has been home for years, Wednesday is free cheese night, Kate and Dermot are back behind the bar, and the tap selection offers the freshest, most eclectic, recondite and just damn fantastic beer selection in NY. Three cask ales on at ... read more

Both neighborhood corner bar and serious beer spot, this West Village ale house is a long-standing favorite. – In Short There's not a spec of sawdust or a creak in the floorboards, but at this well-loved beer bar, it sure feels like there should be. Wood from a 19th century farmhouse was used for the ceiling beams, flooring and counter--all the better to soak up the suds from 28 colorful taps and two casks--and a large brick fireplace warms one side of the room. Along with the microbrews, a food menu is pored over by old fri... read more
