Hiring Blalock Construction was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. Disastrous does not begin to describe our experience. We paid Blalock Construction to act as general contractor on the first phase of our project that ended costing more than $100,000. We used a cost-plus AIA contract with a fee of 17.5% profit and overhead paid to Blalock to install a new standing seam metal roof, new roof insulation, deck boards and associated carpentry. We used them to build a house. They didn’t keep up with the budget, though they said we were on budget. Ended up being 50% over budget. Not a straight forward group. We didn’t let them finish our house. Would NOT recommend.
