The Blakeley State Park was at the center of major battles during the civil war and visitors today can learn about its history. Apart from this, the park has some great trails for nature enthusiasts to explore and admire the native wildlife. There are great facilities for camping as well.

We go here a lot. Lots of history, good trails for walking and biking. Some good camping options, and a beautiful dock out at the river. Beware of May though. Horse flies and Yellow flies will eat you up.
They were closed when we go there with our rv but the gate lady was kind and helped us find another rv campground.
4th of July 2025. RV Spots 25, 26 and 27. Our group was 3 RV's, 8 adults, 4 grandbabies and 4 dogs. The campground folks were very accommodating and made sure we were all together. Firewood was ready on check-in and spots were clean with Power, Good water pressure and sewer hook-up. Half of our group went out on the cruise up to the battleship and watched the fireworks. Very enjoyable weekend. 5 Stars!
We did the Delta Discovery Tour at midday. This tour is recommendable for keen bird enthusiasts not for visitors that like to see active wildlife. As the water is very shallow and brown there is not much to see. The crew gave a lot of information about history and bird life. Sometimes it was hard to understand their accent for us Europeans. We did other cruises in Florida and they were cheaper and much more to see.
