My husband surprised me on our anniversary. Such a sweet and romantic place, yet a little modern kick to it.. We plan on doing this next year..
My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and it was amazing! The staff are all super friendly, breakfast everyday was so good, and it was close to so many things. After we did a lot of walking around in town, we hung out at the hotel and played pool and card games downstairs, which was a lot of fun! We hope to come here again in the future! :)
This is a quaint old house that has been nicely renovated but still kept the feel of an early 1900s home. I grew up in a home very much like this house. The service was great, and the location was right in the middle of a beautiful downtown area with many things to do and see within walking distance.
The Blackwell Boutique has vintage charm, however this was the worst bed I have every slept on in my entire life. Mind you, I backpack and sleep on the ground a lot and am usual comfortable anywhere. The bed in room 5 somehow altered the laws of physics and felt like we were sleeping on a Pringles chip, contorted in all different directions. It's a beautiful home but could use some TLC. The decor doesn't really fit the charming style of the home. Feels kind of cheap and like they just put in there whatever they could find. Our bedspread was very drab and just could have been much cuter. Definitely try to book a room with its own bathroom. Walking across the hall to your bathroom (even though it's just for you) running into other guests in their robes is awkward.
