Not the worst night ever, but close. I knew we were in trouble the moment we entered our room. It sounded like construction workers were re-siding the hotel just outside our window. Circular sawing, the snapping of nail guns, the pounding of hammers, and the loud dropping of glulam beams & 4ftx8ft sheet goods continued for 2 hours. Perfect location, central to downtown CDA. We stayed in the Mansion suite and it was very nice. Perfect for a couples getaway. The only downside was the mattress is clearly on its last leg and can't be saved by the feather pillow top thing they have on it. Beautiful property in a safe area. We left our car I locked over night on accident and no issues. The pool table and free snacks was a nice bonus. Have dinner at Vine and Olive while you're in town. Fantastic food!
One of my all time favourite hotels. The staff were great and the hotel was a beautiful historic building, well kept, in addition to being within walking distance to anything you may want to eat (or even hike, look up Tubbs hill)! I will definitely stay here again, highly recommended.
Really wondered why this place is so highly rated. The place is marketed as a 4* hotel and highly rated. Reality is that - 1st, there is no staff available to check in... (all remote & one needs to register on line to check in). Currently, the place is torn up (that is unexpected but OK). The issues were 1) room is quite dirty, 2) very noisy as there were work with plumbing and there is a new condo building next door, 3) the breakfast does not start until 9:00 AM... and only was comprised scrambled eggs with some sort of che... read more
We spent an entire week exploring Northern Idaho and used The Blackwell as our base. We could not have been happier with the property and the staff. Crystal made our stay even more memorable. She was attentive, helpful, and a complete joy. We were very grateful for her insight on the area, and recommendations of places to explore. The Blackwell is unique, charming, and quiet.
