The award, which recognizes excellence in menu design, format, content and originality, was presented to owner Donna Rocker at the International Hotel-Motel and Restaurant Show. Donna Rocker does all her own design work and has done a wonderful job with the Menu at Black Mountain Grill, said Van Hefner, president of the Nevada Hotel-Motel Association and Nevada Restaurant Association, sponsors of the event.

A nice surprise! This just looks like a Bar & Grill with gaming, but I really enjoy the food. The presentation of the food is especially nice and it is carefully prepared and arranged on the plate as it would be in a very expensive restaurant. The desserts are huge and fattening and can be shared. Even though the restaurant is separate from the bar there is no wall to actually enclose the room and yet there was no problem with smoke that such a room often has. BM The food is not your typical bar style food. The restaurant area has a completely different feel from the bar area. The decor feels like you are in a cabin in the woods. The service is not great but it's not bad either. They never comp your food or drinks if you gamble at the bar (like most places do).
Black Mt. Grill - Run! Went on Saturday evening to try this place out due to the great reviews. I am sorry we spent so much money there. Although the food was decent, the service was horrible! The place was only half-full but it took a long time to get waited on. Other tables were given bread and butter. When we asked for ours -after about a 40 minute wait- we were told there was a "bread shortage". They finally did bring us a basket of bread. Other tables that came in after us, ate and left before we were even served our di... read more
