I was going up north to visit family and was looking to get a tattoo on the road. I read great reviews about Black Iris and sent them an email a few weeks before I left to set up an appointment. It was promptly answered and I sent them my idea. The next day I received an email saying they had an artist that would do it and had multiple designs drawn up for me to consider. I also posted this as a recommendation on their Facebook page. But I wanted to spread the word! I was pierced by Melinda Hupy on Oct. 13. She is by far the most professional body piercer I have ever met. Many of the piercers in the U.P. have a very unprofessional attitude - swearing and involving you in their personal shop drama. Mike and Jackie are the best! They truly made my wedding day special. Out of all of my vendors, I would rate Black Iris Studios and Mike Hall Photography at the top. They didn't just come in, shoot a few pictures for a job and leave, they made me feel important and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I would highly recommend Black Iris Studios to anyone interested in knowing about or getting a tattoo or in need of photography. I have gotten tattoos from both Eddie and Jacqueline. Two from Jacqueline and I truely enjoy chatting with her during the process. Michael does the photography and from all I've seen (weddings, models, landscape, etc) I have been truely impressed. I can't say enough about the care, cleanliness, and professionalism within the studio! Kudos

I want to thank you Eddie for a wonderful job on my tats!! You girls are a class act and Escanaba really needed a tattoo shop like Black Iris! First of all I have several tattoos from many different artists none of which are local. I had heard of and seen such great work from Jacqueline. So I called and spoke with Eddie and corresponded with Jacqueline for a few months before she moved back to Michigan. Eddie and Jacqueline are such great artists and even better great individuals. I have been a loyal customer of Black Iris studio since they have opened their shop in Escanaba. From the first day I spoke with them I knew it was an immediete connection. Great atmosphere, amazing people who work here and have more knowledge in their industries than I have seen in years. I could just sit and talk for hours with them, truely wonderful and professional people whose quality of work is second to none.
