The best outdoor store in AVL! Locally owned and operated (for more than 30 years!) by Trent and Debby. They and their fabulous employees are family to us. We buy all of our outdoor gear and clothing there...and we enjoy a cold, fresh beer from their bar at the same time. We ❤️ Black Dome!
Went in for something specific,had trouble finding the help I needed? Some employees were chatting up a couple when I needed help picking out a jacket. There was a lady working there who asked if I needed help to let her know. I was trying to ger her attention when she said she had a customer. Well I'm a customer too. Purchased my jacket, thank you and no need to be back

A TRUE LOCAL OUTDOOR COMPANY!? YES! They sell TOP OF THE LINE gear that's mostly been tried and tested by the kind, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. I'm a local born and raised in the mountains and this is my spot to shop for all of my outdoor gear all year long. Wish I could give them 10 stars!
LOVE shopping at this rad gear shop! I specifically love their extensive climbing gear selection, the best around by far. The team at Black Dome is knowledgeable, kind, and always helping with community events. When I am here it truly feels like I'm with friends. This store brings the community together! Be sure to check out their amazing bar and grab a beer while you shop, does it get any better?!
