I thought the photographs I saw taken by Black Dog Studios out of Brookfield were enough to book with him but I'm kicking myself now for going with him without reading the reviews first! I paid Jim $900 down to shoot photographs as my wedding photographer and he bailed out of doing out wedding THREE WEEKS BEFORE! If it was possible to give BlackDog Studios less than one star, I would! Coming from someone who knows the ins and outs of small business I can tell you quite positively that his business will implode very soon: he will internally demolish what is left of his company as a result of his own actions and no one else’s. It's almost 2 years since I was married and I have not gotten any pictures from Jim. I also call and e-mail him and he never responds. I want to know if anybody's issues were resolved? If you guys got your pictures and/or every saw any type of refund? What a loser!!
We used Jim (the owner of Black Dod Studios) for high school senior graduation photos. Jim is real smooth and friendly when you place your order and paying him upfront, but he is lousy on the delivery. It was an aweful experience trying to get our photos. Months of numerous phone calls where he would either not return, or if he did, he would make promises he never kept. After we filed a BBB complaint 6 months later did he give us some, but not all of the photos we ordered. This guy is a hack and a swindler.
This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Jim, the owner and photographer, is impossible to get a hold of and NEVER returned my calls. I was looking for commercial headshots which he assured me he could do
I can't believe this Jim guy is legally still able to run a business! He's crook! He'll take your money and then when it comes time to get your pictures he just wont answer or return your phone calls but when I had a friend call him he answered right away so we know he's doing it on purpose. It's creepy because he always has young girls in his office and I hear them talkingabout how mean he is to them. It's very disturbing!
GREAT WORK -- HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & TURNAROUND
My husband I booked Jim at Black Dog to take some family portraits for Christmas. We booked him because he had done our 17 year old daughter's senior pictures and they turned out nice. Upon arriving at the studio- we paid a $100 sitting fee and were told that we could purchase the CD with printing rights for $250- within one week of the shoot. We were very unimpressed with his studio- there wasn't even a Christmas tree for a background. He gave us Santa hats and several even had the ball missing from the top! About one week ... read more
Jim Hamberg of Black Dog Studios was contracted to take pictures at my daughters wedding and 2 future photo shoots. He promised there would be 2 photographers at the wedding and reception, but only Jim showed up. We paid thousands of dollars and he only took a few pictures and the quality of the pictures was not good.
